Sprouts The Miracle Food: A Complete Guide to Sprouting by Steve Meyerowitz "This is a great book for a person who is interested in sprouting; it is very detailed and is truly full of very interesting and useful information. The book also helps to nullify a lot of the myth about toxins and hidden dangers in sprouts. The real dangers, in actuality, exist in cooked, processed, adulterated, toyed-with, sprayed, chemicalized, distorted foods (which our grocery shelves are full of). I am now 50 years old. Back in my youthful college days, I used to sprout a great deal, eating living foods exclusively. Though I stayed being a vegetarian, I got back into the cooked food craze... eating food like it was a drug for "taste" only. I work with the multiply handicapped and even though I am a teacher I have to do a lot of lifting (of adults who are not at all feather-weight). My arthritis (which runs in the family) was killing me, despite taking all kinds of natural and man made supplements. Getting back to live food was the answer I needed. Steve's book was inspirational and very helpful. I should have never deviated from what was truly the most nutritious way to eat!" Martinton, IL reviewer |

Sproutman's Kitchen Garden by Steve Meyerowitz "Of all the un-cook books I have on eating a high raw diet, I find this one of the best. It has a great variety of recipes and is fun to read. Even if you only eat raw now and again, you can still get a lot of good ideas from this book. Buy this book and it will keep you in new healthy recipe ideas for years. Also check out Mr Meyerowits's book on Juice fasting, I've found it to be one of the best available." Tasmania Australia Reviewer

The Hippocrates Diet and Health Program by Ann Wigmore "This Book May Save Your Life! My Natural Medicine practice specializes in the recognition and utilization of diet, nutritional supplements, acupuncture and detoxification. One of most patient's problems is understanding what to eat and when. This book COMPLETELY describes the types of food and why and how to eat them. Cancer, depression and autoimmune disease (to name only a few) like rheumatoid arthritis are the end result of chronic exposure to environmental toxins like solvents and pesticides AND chronic nutritional deficiencies from eating fast food and junk food. This is the most important book you can buy to teach you how simple it is to regain your health AND prevent chronic illness like cancer. This book forms the basis of how we should eat AND understand the life-saving principle of intestinal and liver detoxification. Read, learn, and live a healthy life!" Reviewed by Dr. Craig Jones Enzymes! Enzymes! Enzymes! This is one of the few books out there which teaches you how to take charge of your health in a very simple approach.... Basically it's all about enzymes which metabolize your food and which are needed for every function in your body. Without enzymes there would be no life in your body. Where do you find these enzymes? They are available by eating fresh organic fruits, vegetables, sprouts and nuts/seeds. After 20 years of trying different approaches to become healthier, this is the most significant one I've taken. It really makes a difference." An Amazon.com reviewer. |

Sprout Garden - Revised Edition by Mark Matthew Braunstein "Mark did a great job of updating this book! It is packed with a whole lot more info (not that the 1st edition wasn't packed as well) and is layed out beautifully. All I said in my review of the 1st edition still goes, but I now kinda enjoy the puns and the additional info makes this book even more indispensable. This is the BEST BOOK ON SPROUTING that currently exists! When all is said and done this is what remains: We (The Sproutpeople) have grown over 180 tons of sprouts (by hand) - from over 70 types of seed - since 1993, and when we have a question that we don't know the answer to, we pick up THIS BOOK!"
