Getting the Word Out about the Raw and Living Food Diet and Lifestyle
 

Effective Ways to Get the Good News About the Raw and Living Food Diet and Lifestyle Out to Those Who Are Ready to Hear About It -- Without Alienating Your Family and Friends.

Each person who encounters the Raw and Living Foods Lifestyle and experiences the profound changes this lifestyle makes in their life wants to find ways to tell others about their happy secret.

In fact, you're probably feeling and looking so good that you're going to want to verbally convince all of your friends and family to JOIN you in your diet. Maybe even coerce those closest to you.

In a word: don't!

The best thing you can possibly do to promote the raw and living food lifestyle to those closest to you is to simply go about your raw and living food lifestyle without making a big deal about it.

As you become healtier and stronger and better looking and full of energy, you are also becoming your own best "promotion" for the benefits of the raw and living food lifestyle... and every one is NATURALLY going to want to know what you're doing. Let them do the asking -- and I assure you, they will.

However, there is great benefit to be had in finding ways to promote the raw and living food lifestyle to those people you DON'T know, who could benefit from knowing about the diet and lifestyle, and who are READY to hear about it, or even join you.

Here are some ways that others have found to be effective.

Remember, you don't have to be a perfect 100% raw foodist to begin sharing with others.  Wherever you are is perfect... and there's magic in beginning!

  1. Keep a journal of your successes and your failures and find a way to share this journal with others.  For suggestions, look at our Journals page.

  2. Start a potluck in your area.  This could be either a strictly raw foods potluck... or a vegan potluck with raw foods options.  Take a look at our Potlucks page and click on the various links to see how others are doing this including what they charge (if anything) and what their guidelines are.  You can have the potluck at a fixed place ... or have a "moveable feast" style of potluck where you meet at a different members home each time.  Be sure to let us know about your potluck so we can publish it on our page.

  3. Begin a support group in your area.  Even if you are just starting out, it helps to surround yourself with others who are either active raw foodists ... or who are raw food-curious.  To begin, just make a commitment to do it.  Decide where and when, and then publish news about your meeting to the world. (See our Support Groups page for some ideas on what sorts of activities to include, etc.) Make signs to put on various community bulletin boards: health food store, juice bars, vegetarian restaurants, churches.  Put announcements in the various mailing lists and forums.  (See our Forums, Mailing Lists and Newsletter page for ideas.)

  4. Take before and after pictures and publish them.  We have a Before and After Pix page for that purpose, which also lists links to other sites that publish before and after picture.  Be sure to let us know when you publish your before and after photos, so we can link to them.

  5. Start a raw and living foods website for your area.  You can start small with free hosting.  Then as soon as you can, get your own domain. Offer news about any support groups, restaurants, potlucks, festivals, seminars, food preparation classes, etc. in your area.. and have a big links page to other raw and living foods websites.  The goal is to cover the world with a network of these web pages.  Take a look at the Support Groups page for some ideas of what others have done.  Be sure and register your site with the search engines.  Also, drop us a note so that we can link to you.  Be sure and drop a note to all of the other raw and living food websites as well.  You will find many of these websites listed on our Links page. Post news about your new website in the various mailing lists and forums.

  6. Begin a Raw and Living Foods Non-profit Organization.  If you have the ambition to bring the raw and living foods lifestyle to the world, you might want to consider starting a non-profit organization whose purpose is to inform, teach, research, etc.  Begin by doing a Google search on starting non-profit organizations.  There is much help on the web. 

  7. Be active in the raw and living food mailing lists and forums.  There are a number of these listed on our Mailing Lists and Forums page.  You might even want to start one of your own.  This would be a nice addition to your raw and living foods webpage.  There are many free ways to add forums and mailing lists to your website.

  8. Get information about your support group or your potlucks or your success story into your local newspapers.  Let the world know about your living and raw foods events and seminars. Just write a simple Press Release (do a Google search and you'll find lots of help) and let them know what's happening on a frequent basis.
